Yom HaShoah, or Holocaust Remembrance Day, is a national day of mourning observed in Israel. The day is marked each year on the 27th of Nisan and commemorates the victims of the Holocaust. On this day, memorial services are held in Jewish communities across Israel, and a two-minute siren is sounded throughout the country, during which all Israelis stop what they are doing and stand in silence.
